No, it was not at all nice or elegant, the entrance surrounding of Yngve's house
The same place (as to the left) two years later (1997) began to be a little bit nicer patio. In the container called 'The Tower'  I have planted some plants. It was first some pansy, later I moved  Budleja Davidii from the lawn to 'The Tower' (see below right, next line of pics). Next I started with Sweet Peas climbing on bamboo sticks
The patio in 1995. Rather poorly.. the "lawn" was terrible..
See to the right of the vertical line: it has changed, isn't´ it? You cannot see the lawn, but it became also much better
Here you can see a bit of garden furniture of white plastic, not pretty.. and nothing more, not even any lawn. Here was  not the soil really, only a rock.First, in the summer 1995, I have put there a pot with some flowers
But in the early spring 1996 I have build a huge container of ordinary fields stones and called it 'The Tower' (above and below)
Above: In the corner between  the walls to the right from the garden furniture the wooden container as a planter was built already in 1995.
Mahonia aquifolium was planted,  flowering in May, here in 1997

Below left: "The lawn" in 1995..  I planted Budleja Davidii (just flowering) on a spot with a little deeper soil. Later it has been moved to 'The Tower'
Right: The lawn is a little better in July 1996. This is Gabby, my friend's dog , unfortunately dead for now.
The garden furniture was changed much later, first in 2000!  Then the patio-corner became really nice.. but the grill has got rusty.. compare below right

May 1996 - in 'The Tower': the Acer palmatum dissectum Atropurpureum was planted. The wooden container was built (to the right) for the bamboo. But bamboo very soon started to flower and died!

To the left of 'The Tower' it was very little soil and there Bergenia cordifolia was planted a very long time ago. It was a little bit dreary, I thought, and I put there the steerboard or something like that, coming from Yngve's old boat. I painted it and filed with soil.  Every year I plant something there, mostly 'Busy Lizzie', most often double hybrids.

The 'Pot Pond' is placed between the patio and entrance.
The lawn in the Yngve's garden was very little and poor, and if something changed with time, it was that the lawn area reduced almost every year. To brighten it I started from making a small bed with summer flowers.

'Dr.Eckener' occurred the very beautiful rose. Already in 2002 (middle pic) the rose was ca 2m tall and repeated flowering. On the pic together with Sweet Peas (the pink one is 'Athea Turner'), 11 August. 'Dr.Eckener' created a beautiful focal point on the lawn. Every year the Sweet Peas were planted, but also other flowers, sometimes self sown, like  Chrysanthemum partenium on the right pic.

Next years I created another eye-catching spot nearby the lawn -  a large planter and some decoration.
In the our main patio the different flowering, striking plants were planted every year in the 4 hanging baskets. Besides there were 2 very large plant containers (one built of stone, called 'The Tower' and the other a wooden box, called the 'Bamboo-planter') - they were always full of flowers, often very perfumed, like Lobularia maritimaMatthiola incana and Matthiola longipetala bicornis. And there was yet the older wooden planter  in the corner between two
house walls as well, with Mahonia aquifolium,
also fragrant, and some other plants. Left side - Bamboo planter,   right side - 'Mahonia corner' and 'The Tower'.

After I had laid the stone floor in 'The  Warm Corner', the place became very nice and cozy. We have bought a little table and two armchairs of hard wood and we could have a nice cup of tea under the pauses of my garden duties.  Another place to rest, with the park bench on the rock, there is on the north side of house. There is no any table there, but the view is very nice..

Pictures in the years before 2001 were still made with analog camera, Minolta Riva. In the winter 2001 Yngve has bought the new, digital camera, Olympus Camedia 860L. First I was afraid using it, but since July I had tried make pictures with the new camera. After first not perfect result I started understand my camera better and pictures I made were better and better. In 2003 as a Christmas present I have got from Yngve newest Olympus 750 UZ . It was rather complicated to use and I had to learn  much. In coarse of time  I started making very beautiful pictures.

But my happiness was short. I forgot the camera in the garden and unfortunately it rained a longer time - on my camera. The camera was totally destroyed. My son tried to repair it and he succeeded almost, but some parts in camera was rusted totally. Camera is working, but without ZOOM. I gave it to my son and returned to my first, very simple Olympus C860L without zoom but with MACRO. Pictures are not bad really.
